Command sets and Companion apps Available for Download

This page provides download links for a number of different types of files:

  • FlickStart Tags using movement to target Phone and/or Watch - Sets of commands that can be added to a FlickStart installation to control apps on the handheld or on a connected wearable. Each command will define which of the eighteen movements recognized by FlickStart will trigger the command.

  • FlickStart Tags using movement to target Windows apps - Sets of commands that can be added to a FlickStart installation to control apps on Windows PCs (when your phone and the PCs are on the same WiFi network).   • FlickStart Tags using speech to target Phone and/or Watch - Sets of commands that can be added to a FlickStart installation to control apps on the handheld or on a connected wearable. Each command will define a speech pattern which triggers the command when the speech reocgnition process returns text that will match the pattern.

  • FlickStart Tags using speech to target Windows apps - Sets of commands that can be added to a FlickStart installation to control apps on Windows PCs (when your phone and the PCs are on the same WiFi network). Each command will define a speech pattern which triggers the command when the speech reocgnition process returns text that will match the pattern. See the section on this website describing FlickNet for information on setting up the phone and PC(s).

  • FlickStart Companion apps - These are apps which need to be installed on a PC. The apps act as the PC end of a bridge from FlickStart on a phone through to apps on a PC. Since the companion apps don't install on a phone they can't be downloaded from the Google Play Store.

  • Some of the files are the duplicates (or updated versions) of commands provided with FlickStart and are there in case you accidentally delete or damage your copy of the commands.

    Others are new command sets that work with more apps or are variations on existing ones.

    To use a command set, download it to the 'Downloads' folder on your phone and then go to the menu bar in FlickStart and choose the import option:

    Date and Time (Speech).xml This tag uses some built-in functions to provide speech driven date and time related commands. output from the commands is spoken. there are commands for indicating the current time in another city, the time difference between your current location and another city, a date in the future or past (eg.     Google Maps (Speech).xml These commands access the Google Maps app. Google Maps lets other apps request a few operations, and some of these request are accessed by the commands here. The commands are voice driven. One group of commands brings up Google Maps on your current location and lets you zoom in and out (by voice). Another command finds a location or points of interest.     Calendar (Speech).xml Commands for finding and creating calendar events. events are found by searching for words in the title, decsription and location. if an event is found it is read out. new events can be created by speech bit by bit and stored in the calendar when complete.     Conversion (Speech).xml The commands provide speech input for the the built-in conversion commands. You can use the commands to convert between units of length, mass, volume and temperature. There is also conversion from one currency to another. Neologue Computing flickstart.com.au
    Launch (Speech).xml This tag contains commands which use speech to launch apps or go to specfic panels in apps. There are commands for many standard built-in Android apps. There are a couple for popular apps that you would need to download from the app store.     Start a Phone Call (Speech).xml Start a phone call hands free. Both commands expect you to name someone in your phone's contacts database as target for the call. Like all speech commands using contacts you can use either the nickname or display name or enough of the name to be unique. One command assumes you are calling the person on their mobile. The other command lets you specify 'home', 'work' or 'mobile' provided the database has such entries. Neologue Computing flickstart.com.au
    Calculator (Speech).xml This set of commands implements a speech driven calculator. Neologue Computing flickstart.com.au
    Contacts (Speech).xml The commands in this tag speak information such as phone numbers, email addresses and IM names for contacts in your contacts database. Neologue Computing flickstart.com.au
    Clipboard (Speech).xml These commands provide examples of how to get data from the clipboard into FlickStart expressions and how to send information from expressions to the clipboard. Neologue Computing flickstart.com.au
    Skype Control (Speech).xml Start audio or video calls on the Skype app hand free. The commands let you choose the contact using the contact name on your phone (provided you have the contact's Skype name in the Skype field for that contact). Neologue Computing flickstart.com.au
    Stopwatch (Speech).xml Use the commands in this file to start the stopwatch and stop it again later. You can also tell the stopwatch to change from one lap to the next. Neologue Computing flickstart.com.au

    Email (Speech).xml The commands are used to build an email bit by bit and then sending it to your email app. You can build and review the parts of the email by voice. Neologue Computing flickstart.com.au
    Music player control (Speech).xml The commands in this file call on any music player app on your phone. They are not directed to any specific player. However, not all players will respond. In particular the 'find' command may not be implemented on some players. You can search for songs and start them playing by saying your query.     SMART TV Remote Control (Speech).xml his file has commands for the 'SMART TV Remote' app. Use speech to move up and down channels, power the TV on and off, toggle the sound on and off, move the volume up and down, and toggle the onscreen information.     Timer (Speech).xml The commands in this file allow you to create an alarm that goes off after the number of seconds you define as you speak the command. Another command lets you cancel the timer before the selected period has elapsed. Neologue Computing flickstart.com.au
    Charting (Speech).xml This tag provides a number of speech driven examples using the built-in charting function. Many of the examples can redraw a new graph by varying parameters by speech.     Spotify Control (Speech).xml The commands in this file call on the Spotify app to various tasks. However, the commands only work with Spotify Premium. You can search for songs and start them playing by saying your query. The query has to have you Spotify username in it which will mean editing the command in this file that does the query. If you scroll through the command's details you will see the word 'username' in one of the fields. Replace 'username' by your own Spotify username.     SMS (Speech).xml A set of commands for speech control of some SMS functions. With these commands you can get FlickStart to speak out the last SMS received, or the last from any contact. You can send a reply (hands free) to the last SMS or any contact. You can also prepare an SMS before sending it or passing to your SMS app. Neologue Computing flickstart.com.au
